The Interview Analysis

The topic of interviews, previously only seen and heard in movies was an interesting one. It was more spiced up by the classroom activity. The discussion following the activity raised a few questions for self-analysis. Interviews are many types. But in this modern day, it has evolved into many new forms. But the basic idea behind it is the same. Place yourself in the shoes of the person seeking a job and there will be one or more than one qualified person or people questioning and assessing you.

It sounds very simple. But, being placed in the situation in the classroom and asked to discuss it with a selected partner then come up with challenging questions for each other was very eye opening. Moreover, finding answers to the partner’s tricky questions gave a wider understanding of the basics of the interviewing process.

This activity played a very significant role in understanding the importance of the interview process. According to Keith (n.d.) the interviewing a candidate in for a job or a posting aids in understanding the person applying for the post and select the suitable applicant eliminating the weak ones. Similar to Charles Darwin’s evolution quote “One general law, leading to the advancement of all organic beings, namely, multiply, vary, let the strongest live and the weakest die.” ( Charles Darwin “The Origin of Species Quotes”, n.d.)

This cements the need for an interview process in any field. This activity in the classroom injected the idea and put forward a need to study about it and acquire an overall idea about it. The fear of interviews have been erased, it is essential and should be embraced.

Very interesting technique. However, I would’ve loved to hear more about how you would reflect on it rather than explaining it. Even would’ve liked to know more on how you’d related to it in your work career.
